Multi-Phase-Edition – Kunstwerke in Bewegung

Ein Multi-Phase ist ein besonderes Kunstwerk: Bewegt sich der Betrachter und verändert seinen Blickwinkel, so verändert sich auch das Multi-Phase. Es zeigt sich von einer anderen Seite und vermittelt somit den Eindruck der Bewegung. Beatrice Hug nutzt diesen Effekt für Farb- und Grenzverschiebungen, um immer wieder neue Perspektiven zu schaffen.

In den abstrakten Farbringen von Beatrice Hugs scheint ein Puls zu schlagen: Der Effekt entsteht durch die gekonnte Verwendung von Unschärfen. Je länger man das Bild betrachtet, desto weicher wirkt es. Tritt man einen Schritt zur Seite, vollzieht sich eine noch überraschendere Veränderung. Was vorher rosa war, erscheint nun grün. Der Kreis im Innern dagegen färbt sich bläulich. Dieser spezielle Effekt wird durch die Lentikular-Technik erzeugt. Kleinste Linsen brechen das Licht in neue Farben, was dem künstlerischen Ansatz der Pariser Fotografin in ihrer Konzentration auf farbige Gläser, Lichtreflexe und kolorierte Flüssigkeiten kongenial entspricht.

Der deutsche Fotograf Alfred Steffen hat den Ausnahmekünstler Prince in einem dreiphasigen Multi-Phase-Porträt inszeniert und hält damit die Erinnerung an diesen grandiosen Performer lebendig. Das Bild ist seine Bühne, je nach Betrachtungswinkel wechselt der Star gekonnt die Pose. Die drei Porträts stammen aus einer Fotosession, in der Steffen dem Künstler einfache aber direkte Fragen stellte, die er pantomimisch beantworten sollte. Dann werden winzige optische Linsen als durchsichtiges Raster über das Werk gelegt, um eine räumliche Illusion zu erzeugen. Die zahlreichen stäbchenförmigen Linsen werden mit dem Bild hinterdruckt und geben je nach Blickwinkel andere Teile des Werkes frei.

Der Abstand zwischen den Augen des Betrachters sorgt je nach Lentikular-Technik für faszinierenden 3D-Effekte oder Bewegungen.
