IntroductionAnuar Patjane has been interested in photography since childhood. His photo of an iceberg is staggering, not just for the ice’s tremendous size, but also its beautiful appearance. At the same time, Patjane’s photo is a warning about glaciers and ice caps diminishing as a result of global warming. An increasing number of colossal, drifting icebergs are appearing every summer. The one in Patjane’s Portal was photographed during an Antarctic expedition in 2015.
Patjane captures a rare moment of beauty for all eternity, photographing gigantic icebergs before they slowly melt and disappear into the ocean.
In its gentle black and white tones, the photograph almost appears like a painting. The fine texture of the Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper gives the image a soft, painterly appearance and preserves its depth.Curriculum vitæAnuar Patjane was born in 1981 in Tehuacán, Mexico.
